
SUMMER CAMPS 2025
We held three summer camps in 2025---"Just Desserts", "Taste the Rainbow", and "Restaurant Makeover"
Additionally, we hosted Mercer County's JCC Abrams Teen Travel Camp , visited Above and Beyond Education Foreign Exchange Program at Conwell Egan High School in Bristol, Pa. and conducted a "Page to Plate" (story time and a snacktivity)
for the children and parents of the Robbinsville MOMS Club.
We connected with the community by baking and donating "Sheena's Sweet Potato Treats" to EASEL animal shelter in Ewing, NJ
JUST DESSERTS CAMP
Our junior chefs enjoyed a week filled with sweet, dreamy, creamy, chocolatey desserts! On Chocolate Day they created whoopie pies, just like the Amish make, and chocolatey hummus from garbanzo beans. French desserts were on the menu as they learned how to make a choux pastry and a creamy filling to create eclairs, and lovely madeleines dipped in white chocolate. Garden bakes day included zucchini muffins, carrot muffins and angelfood cupcakes with a strawberry frosting. Our final day of dessert camp was all about Paw Print cookies made with sun butter and chocolate chips and sweet potato dog biscuits, donated to our furry friends waiting for fur-ever homes at a local pet rescue.
































































































TASTE THE RAINBOW CAMP
Each day of camp focused on a different color of the rainbow. On RED DAY we made fresh pico de gallo and watermelon smoothies, on GREEN DAY we made spinach pasta from scratch and minty green shakes, on YELLOW/ORANGE DAY we made cheese crackers (better than store-bought cheez-its!), sweet potato fries with a garlic alioli sauce, and mango lassi shakes, on PURPLE DAY we learned all about butterfly pea tea and turned our drinks from indigo blue to purple, and made unicorn vermicelli noodles, dying it purple with cabbage leaves. What a colorful way to learn new recipes, practice communication skills, and learn new culinary techniques!






























































































RESTAURANT MAKEOVER CAMP
During Restaurant Makeover Week, our junior chefs recreated popular favorites: Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets and their secret sauce and waffle fries, Taco Bell's crunch wrap supreme, Wendy's Frosties, McDonald's egg McMuffins and Shamrock Shakes and Starbucks cake pops and lemon loaves. They learned knife skills, culinary vocabulary, practiced problem solving and critical thinking and teamwork, all while making homemade and healthier versions of fast food menu items.
